The primary goal of establishing Prime Medical College was to offer quality medical education leading to a recognized degree. The college began its academic journey in the 2008–2009 session with 50 students. It was affiliated with Rajshahi University on 1st November 2010 and recognized by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) on 6th June 2010. The first professional MBBS exam was held in July 2010 after completing the two-year prescribed curriculum. Currently, the 15th batch is enrolled. Due to strong academic performance, the Ministry of Health and Rajshahi University increased the seat capacity from 50 to 135. The college now features a modern seven-storied academic building, each floor covering 28,000 sq. feet, with ample parking. It houses all departments, tutorial classrooms, laboratories, museums, offices, a library, conference room, and lecture galleries. The attached 750-bed Prime Medical College Hospital (PMCH) is a tertiary care referral center that provides quality training to students and offers affordable healthcare to the public. The dedicated hospital staff ensure excellence in patient care and education.
